A visit to Derek Gores Gallery is always a refreshing, mellow and invigorating experience. Yes, it’s possible for all those responses.

This week, he had a little soiree celebrating the run of an exhibition with jewelry artist Rebecca Rose. While that show has ended, his ‘Old and Improved’ high concept show runs through the week. In it, you’ll find some wild — and sometimes woolly — reinventions of old, well…stuff.

There’s Jessica Haines advising you to “Never Quit Up Your Day Dream.” And Jean Filipski putting a “Jack Nicholson’s Here’s Johnny” spin into an idyllic setting.
