It’s been said that when it comes to comedy, timing is everything.
That theatrical truism rang loud and clear at a recent rehearsal for “The Fox on the Fairway,” the comedy opening Friday, Aug. 7, at Melbourne Civic Theatre.
Indeed. Director Peg Girard took about 20 minutes to tighten up a 30 second stage bit in which actor Terrence Girard’s character gets 86’ed by Rachel Greshes’ character. Ms. Girard took delight in demonstrating to Ms. Gresches exactly how to deliver a knuckle sandwich to her husband, Terrence. That was, of course, all in character and all for this madcap show by farce meister Ken Ludwig.
