The place to be in Brevard on Friday evening was the Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts as it opened its new exhibit, “Light and Shadow: Contemporary Fiber Art by Hye Shin.”

Visitors seemed electrified by the excitement of true “installation art,” the first of its kind in a Brevard fine art museum.

Curated by Keidra Navaroli, the exhibition reveals the artist’s fascination of nature and how it helps us articulate emotion.
