Florida Prep is stepping up big time into the cultural community.
It has committed to a $125,000 donation to the Henegar Center. In honor of the educational institution, the Henegar Center will name its mainstage THE FLORIDA PREP THEATRE.
The announcement was made at a special reception where Dr. Marshall Willman, president of Florida Prep, presented a check to Dr. Cliff Bragdon, presidnet of the Henegar’s board of directors and retired vice president of strategic initiatives at Florida Tech.
The Henegar Center produces a season filled with live theater and runs a successful theater educational program called the Feller Theatre Academy.
“With our goal of developing a life-long appreciation for the arts in our community matching up so perfectly to Florida Prep’s support for the arts, this partnership is a match made in theater heaven,” said Roger Hughes, the Henegar Center’s newly appointed executive director.
Florida Prep was formerly known as Florida Air Academy. It is both a day school and boarding academy for boys and girls in grades 5 through 12. It was bought last year by Chongqing, China-based Newopen USA.
